Guest guest
Creon i said to be even more effective Creon is, however, a prescription drug. Its active ingredient is called " pancrelipase " , and its primary use is for patients who have pancreatic dysfunction. It's a broad spectrum enzyme product, designed to handle not only proteins / protein fragments (peptides), but also lipids (fats) and, I think, carbohydrates. It's not known whether the beneficial effect of Creon is tied to the higher level of proteases (enzymes that break down protein) or to the presence of the other types of enzymes. n Klaveness www.advimoss.no www.advimoss.no/GFCF_results www.advimoss.no/GFCF_survey -----Opprinnelig melding----- Fra: Schlotzhauer renee1dat@...> Til: GFCFKids GFCFKids > Dato: 11. mai 2001 14:02 Emne: Re: Enzymes and electrolytes >Accidental infringements in this house are an absolute nightmare and I am >very interested in anything that can help alleviate some of the symptoms! >Right now we use enzymaid and pepcid ac when there is a problem, but it >sounds as if this other enzyme may be better. Guest guest
Accidental infringements in this house are an absolute nightmare and I am very interested in anything that can help alleviate some of the symptoms! Right now we use enzymaid and pepcid ac when there is a problem, but it sounds as if this other enzyme may be better. I thank you all who have brought the information about it to the list! I do plan on trying it here at home, not necessarily to test the diet- we know we need the diet but hey, accidents happen and its nice to have a safe guard. There must be some missing element in the child's digestive system. In diabetes, for instance, many bodies require insulin to be introduced in order to normalize. Diabetics do not have the option to remove sugars 100% from their diet. > > Our kids have the option to remove gluten and casein. You have chosen to exercise this option and maintain that approach steadfastly. There appears to now be an alternative that replaces the element that the body is SUPPOSED to have (not some foreign chemical, as it seems you perceive) in much the same way that insulin is the missing element to a diabetic. > > Your point of whether " popping enzymes " is or is not GF/CF is a matter of semantics. For many, GF/CF means free of gluteomorphine and casomorphine. Whether that is accomplished by removing the offending allergen or causing the body to correctly process foods so as not to create the peptides becomes a matter of perspective.
