Guest guest
were both pairs the new style Markell's? The ones without a seam up the inside heel and a factory padded tongue? Darbi has had those red marks ever since she went into the new style (which isn't so new anymore, being over a year since they were released) and this past summer I started using a little less strap tightness and more lace tightness hoping to get those marks to go away. It's got something to do with the padded tongue they started using, in the past most of the brace shops would put plastizode on the tongue to pad it and it was pretty thick. The padding on the new tongues isn't so thick, and I think this may be part of the problem. So, after doing this with the tongue for about 6mo's here Darbi's feet finally aren't all red on top anymore. Those marks never got worse, but they never went away. I didn't know if they ever would but it seems they aren't permanent. Just watch for problems, and if you're sure she's got a good seat in the shoes you can try using the laces a little tighter and see if that helps. What I would do at first is tighten the strap normally, and then lace them very tight. Then I'd loosen the strap one hole.
