Hello everyone,

is going to his first gastroenterology appointment on Friday.

I want to check with you all to get some ideas about what to ask. I

doubt this doctor is familiar with RSS children (who is?!?), so I

want to go in prepared.

The most important question I have right now is if he is getting

enough to eat. He eats 3 ounces of formula every 3 hours or so and

he eats about 4 tablespoons cereal w/fruit or formula in the morning,

and a 1/2 jar to 1 jar of baby food at noon and in the evening. He

currently weights about 10 lbs. and is about 23-24 inches long. He

will be 9 months old on Saturday (4/3).

I haven't been able to tell if he has silent reflux, though I do have

a prescription of Zantac. Sometimes he makes weird noises or once in

a while looks like he's chewing on nothing.

I guess I wonder if he needs the delayed gastric emptying test...but

what else? How do I know if he needs petriacin (sp?)? He hasn't had

too much of a problem with constipation, but I try to give him fruits

that keep him loose. So I don't know if he needs Miralax either.

I have garnished so much knowledge from all of you and your

experiences, I'm just hoping you can help me think of the appropriate

questions to ask concerning my little guy and whatever digestive

problems he may/may not have.

Thanks for your help in advance! I'm leaving for Disneyland tomorrow

and won't be back until mid-week, so if I don't respond right away

that's why...but I want to have some information available before our

appointment on Friday.

Take care all,

Mom to 4 1/2 non-rss and almost 9 months 10 lbs
