Hi Laurie,

It sounds like you are in good hands with a radiologist and

anesthesiologist during the procedures. I remember you telling us

that they were going to make you wait there for something like 6

hours before letting you drive home, but in the end decided to let

you drive home after the procedure.

Did the epidural make you loopy or dizzy? I guess the reason for not

wanting a patient to drive home immediately afterwards is due to the

numb feeling you would get in your legs and they fear that you

wouldn't be able to apply the brakes or gas peddle to drive.

Good Luck!!

Hugs,

Ann-Marie

I had the epidural and got off the bed and walked to my wheelchair to

go to another floor to wait out the six hours. The nurse even

commented that I walked so much better. If they don't go into the

spinal canal, there should be no numbness, but I think it would be

immediate. This is why I required it be done someplace using a

floriscope to check placement. I also have a lot of arthritis in my

back and it makes the job easier for them if they can see where they

are going. I'm glad my foot surgery is before the epidural. The

neuropathy might help with the pain.
