Guest guest
Hi all! I am new to this site, and so happy to have found it! I am sure, as on most WLS groups, you guys get the same questions from all of the newbies... so I apologize-- I know this one probably comes up alot. I am 14 months post op and 20 pounds away from goal (down 163 pounds) and have found out that I am 2 1/2 months pregnant. We are so excited! I have still been losing at the rate of about 7-10 pounds a month since I conceived, and show no signs of slowing. I can tell my waistline is getting snug, but only in jeans, or things that wont give. Actually lost another size even in jeans since conception. Anyway, my question is... how long could I expect this to go on, and how much is ok to lose before it turns the other way or slows? I have lost 17 pounds in the last 2 1/2 months. I know alot of folks gain quite a bit despite their efforts, and I am glad to not YET be part of that bunch, but am prepared to gain should the baby see fit. I am eating well (eating more frequently, but no less healthily) and havent noticed any munchies yet. I havent had any morning sickness vomiting to contend with either (thank God! 1st child was tough with that!) So I dont think the extra weight loss is due to loss of intake. Doubled up on the vitamins too... Anyway any answers or help or advice would be appreciated. So glad you guys are here! Guest guest
If you are still losing weight you may still lose weight throughout the remainder of your pregnancy. I was 3 yrs out from open RNY. I'd lost 147# when I got preg. I didn't gain any weight until 30 weeks. From 30 weeks on (to 36 weeks-he was a preemie) I gained 18#. I was worried that I hadn't gained ENOUGH because I wanted desperately to have a healthy baby no matter what my weight gain ended up being and thanks to God, he was perfectly healthy after a brief NICU stay. good that you've increased your vitamin intake... also increase some protein! Sounds like you're doing great! Sheila
