Guest guest
Olivia was 3 years old before she was switched to the forward facing seat from the infant seat. My suggestion would be to find out what your state laws are on carseats. Here it is 20lbs. Since Olivia is only 18lbs we have letters from the Dr and the health unit stating that Olivia is allowed to be forward facing. Our police have random car seat checks and we would face a huge fine without the letters. Hope this helps! Guest guest
What our RSS/SGA division was told is that most state laws are 1 year AND 20 pounds. However, after your child is 1 year old, if their height gets to the point that their legs have to be bent in order for them not to squish against the backseat, then it is safer for them to be turned around. For the " average " RSS child, this is about 2 years old. So most of our kids are usually turned around at about 2 years of age, and the average RSS weight at 2 is usually 16-20 pounds. Getting a note from your pediatrician office is a good one if your state does random checks. Most of the time, the police will ask the child's age and not usually take the child out and weigh them, but some states are sticklers. > Olivia was 3 years old before she was switched to the forward > facing seat from the infant seat.
