TENS unit questions

I'm dropping in again with a question. Some time ago I was prescribed

an electrical muscle stimulator from RS Medical. I get pain relief

during the time that I have it on but it is very inconvenient. It has

to be charged at an electric outlet. Then I have to sit down while I am

using it. The treatment time is about 40 minutes, 20 minutes pain

relief followed by 20 minutes of muscle stimulation. I do manage to get

2 cycles of use before I have to recharge. But I have to sit. The thing

is not portable.

Now another of my doctors has prescribed a TENS unit. I have one but it

is well over 20 years old. I like the fact that I can tuck the unit

into my waist band or pocket and wear it all day. I know that

technology has changed so much in 20 years so I'm looking for input

from any one who uses a TENS. I've tried to find a local place that

carries more than one kind but so far I can't find any. I have been

told that I can order others but that doesn't help if I don't know the

differences.

I hope everyone is doing as well as possible and that your weather is

as nice as mine.
