This whole topic has inspired me to be a bit more proactive in my somewhat

lazy life.

So.. I was researching the medical field... and found an EMT/Paramedic 2 year

program near me!! The whole program costs under 5k... and I sent away for

more info.

Since it is a step by step program.. one must have thier EMT first.. before

doing the paramedic classes.. I at least can work part time as an EMT while

continuing my education. :)

Also.. many of the ER's around me hire Paramedics to work in the ER.. ..

salary is very nice :)

I am almost 33 years old and have spent much of my 20's in a bad marriage and

then the whole drinking/party/drug scene... working crappy jobs... and being

depressed about my wieght... etc.

Hubby makes okay money.. but lets face it.. it takes 2 salaries to accomplish

what 1 salary did 30 years ago. The housing costs have quadrupled.. while

incomes rise at a much slower rate.

A decent new mini van costs 20k!

Okay.. enough rambling..

:)
