Guest guest
most OB's suggested taking NO medcicines during pregnancy was best, but there are some that mine said were safe to take if necessary and some situations where taking medication is unavoidable. After I got into poison ivy during my 6th month, I took lots of benadryl and prednisone. He said the benadryl was safe during pregnancy (Pregnancy Risk Category B-benefits to Mom outweigh risks to the fetus). He said I shouldn't take any Benadryl during the last 2 weeks of pregnancy and since I was having pre-term labor from 6 months on, I never knew when 2 weeks before would be, so I tried to stop the Benadryl around the 30th week. (I also took it to help me sleep). I ended up delivering at 36 weeks. My baby boy is fanstastically healthy! Sheila
