Guest guest
Hello everyone I know I don't keep you all updated on Brady very often. I'm going to try a little harder to do so after the last couple of weeks we have had. Brady has had a G-tube in since October 2002 and really had no problems with it. For the last six months or so Brady has been going through a lot of gagging. About every 2 months he begins to gag and it lasts for about 2 weeks. In those 2 weeks we are lucky to get half of what he need in a day into him every day. Last week was really bad for us. He was gagging so bad I contacted his doctor and told him we needed to have a j-tube placed. Two months ago I was totally opposed to the idea of a j-tube. We had the j-tube placed 2 weeks ago on a Friday. Brady did wonderful on his feedings on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Monday morning at around 5:00am he woke up gagging and has been since. We had a GI appointment today and they are going to do an endoscope to see if they can find anything different than what they have found on two upper GI's, a milk scan, and belly x-rays. We already know that he has a paraesophogial hiatal hernia What we don't know is, is that hernia causing him all of this pain and discomfort and is it what is causing him to gag. We are all stumped here and all these doctors are doing is guessing. Brady is also losing weight again. He has lost about 6 ounces in the past month. I am scared for Brady. They have to put him under for the endoscope and he has never done well with anisteisa. I am about to go insane. I don't know what I can do to make him more comfortable. When he does have these gagging spells he doesn't want any one to touch him or comfort him. Please help me what should I do????
