Guest guest
I can't be more pleased with the care Olivia received today at Children's Seattle. We were planning to have her admitted for a posterior capsulectomy. Dr. Schmale suggested it, so I took Livi to Dr. Mosca for a 2nd opinion - wondering why we couldn't try another tenotomy first. Dr. Mosca concurred with Schmale about needing the capsulectomy - and I decided to just go with it since we didn't have any other options for docs around here. Dr. Schmale came into surgery today and said they (Mosca and Schmale) had discussed Olivia, and decided it would be best to only do a second tenotomy, because that's what Ponseti recommends! Music to my ears of course... so instead of an overnight hospital stay and general anesthesia, we got to go home today! Livi is doing well. She's NOT happy about being in casts again...can't stand up anymore. But otherwise she's happy and cuddly as ever. I'm glad the docs decided to stick to the Ponseti method - we can always do more later if needed. Darby Livi 3/15/04 bi cf (yes, tenotomy on her birthday!!!)
