Guest guest
Donna, What a tough time for your daughter. Teens want so much to be " normal " and they think by ignoring what they don't like it will go away. Unfortunately, they haven't had enough life experiences to have the tools to handle all of this. Heck, I know adults who never outgrew this tendency. Do the headaches occur around the time of her period? My son does complain of headaches quite often. He has allergic rhinitis and won't use his nose spray (sound familiar?)to be able to breathe so he gets headaches from all the swelling. Also, I found that when he hasn't been drinking enough fluids he will often get a headache. My son is 21 years old with 93% mito load (he has MERRF) who still insists that he can work full time. He tried full time during his internship for graduation from his tech school and did a 40 hour week one time. After that, he did anywhere from 15-30 hours and that was a struggle for him. Yet he insists that now that he is looking for a " real " job he can do full time. He just wants to be a normal guy. He wants to break free from us (as most 21 year olds do) but he knows he can't right now and might never be able to. It breaks my heart. Is she close with her brother? Maybe he can talk to her. Keep trying with the vitamins. These kids take patience, patience and more patience. Boy would I like to find a store who sells it. Kim in Pennsylvania > Hi, > I have a question do headaches go with mito my 16 year old daughter has complained of a headache for 2 days. She also says she is so tired and feels like she has no energy. She is back in school for now has been turtored at home last year she does have an IEP, and I can't get her to take any advil or her COQ10 and vitamins. I wonder if something isn't going on I am getting a little concerned I told her if they are not going to get better she will have to go to the doctor. She also does not want to hear anything about mito her 20 year old brother is more severe she thinks there is nothing wrong with her when she had all the testing and came back at greater than 95% with mito. We were told at one time by a doctor that she could feel this way about the mito issues cause she is afraid she will end up like her brother. Any advice would help thanks. > Hugs, > Donna K
