Guest guest
Paints, Nausea and vomiting are common complaints that come along with the pancreatitis. Many people on the board suggested to me to try Ginger. Ginger root (take a small piece and but it in your mouth) or some have suggested ginger tea. I have not tried any of these methods yet. If it works for you it would be a great alternative to taking more pills. I hope this helps. Sending lots of happy thoughts your way..... Guest guest
Ginger Ale can help some...my nurse practitioner suggested diet ginger ale and to stir it a bit to release a lot of the fizzies...I cannot drink it flat as she suggested, but I can take out most of the fizz...sip it slowly and let it help settle your stomach. Guest guest
Paints, many of us have nausea/stomach upset with this disease. It is, unfortunately, a symptom of this disease and can sometimes be caused by pain medications, as some have nausea as a side effect. I take Reglan for every day use and when I'm in the hospital I take Zofran. Both work well for me. I also use an aromatherapy inhalant to keep me from throwing up any medication I take as that can also happen. Then, once the nausea meds kick iin (usually in 1/2 hour or 40 minutes) I stop using the inhalant. The aromatherapy works, but I have to constantly inhale the stuff or the nausea comes back before the meds have a chance to work. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@... Guest guest
Hi guys Last night Adam came to me and said his scrotom was getting too big. When I looked at it closely I found tons of little blonde hairs. My son has started puberty!! Thank goodness our 4 month endo. check up is Tuesday. Now what do I need to know? I know, I know, I know, we've talked about this a million times, and I have saved some emails over the years, but I have to find them and I can't settle on this! So.... 1.) first I want to ask him about ande?? What's that word? And more importantly how do I pronounce it so I sound like I know what I'm talking about. 2.) Is it only Lupron that halts puberty? If not, what others? 3.) Is it a " bad " thing to not get the lupron (or whatever) right away? Am I missing precious time by waiting? You see I have a feeling the endo will " monitor " for 4 months and I'm not going to stand for it. 4.) When should I get another bone age done? He just had it done at the last appt. in Sept. and it had advanced exactly one year from last years (bone age of a six year old and Adam is 11). 5). I can't think of anything else at the moment. I'm OK until I remember this and then I start to panic again. Anything else I should be concerned with? I'll try to get my paper work together but if you guys would please go through this discussion.....however briefly one more time for me I would be hugely grateful!!! Guest guest
You didn't mention how long your daughter has had the DBB but it does take a few days to adjust to it. My son was really cranky for about 3 days but I have read on this board that some kids take a week to adjust. Please just try and stick with it. If you take them off, she could relapse really quickly and then you would have to start over again. The thought of that is what kept me going through those first days. Now my son has adjusted completely to them. In the beginning even after the first few days, after I would take the shoes off for the hour a day and try and put them back on he would be really fussy. That has passed too and now I can even put them on while he is sleeping. Most babies adjust to these things pretty well (better than most adults would I think). Hang in there. The DBB Tips file that is in the files section also helps for ideas. Guest guest
Kerry, Hang in there! Most babies have a pretty difficult adjustment period at first, but it will get better. The biggest pointer I can give is to make sure they are on properly! Make sure you get that heel down in the back. Make sure the bar is the right lenghth - the heels should be shoulder width apart. Keep your eyes out for sores or blisters. I gave Livi tylenol for the first really bad day. If things don't get better in another day or two, or if she is slipping out of the shoes, check with your doc or post here for some more suggestions! Good luck!
