Guest guest
There really should not be a problem with covering gh because it has been approved by the FDA for RSS kids. You might want to contact the two companies, however, to see if this would be a problem. It should not be. You've been using gh and there will be no lapse in coverage (otherwise they could tell you that it is a pre-existing condition and you have to wait 6 months). We were denied by Oxford, but Dr. H. intervened and got it approved. The problem for us was that Max is growing so slowly (he is gh resistant) that they did not want to approve it if it was not making a difference. Jodi Z. Guest guest
Can't speak to United Health Care. We have had CIGNA last year and they did cover our growth hormone, with a small little fight (proper info from the doctor). They had their own in house GH pharmacy, which worked out OK. They shipped a 90-day supply for a $70 copay which was great. (We have Aetna now and they only ship a month supply, but because only single vials, it ends up being about 22 days supply, so we are constantly have to remember to reorder, it is terrible!).
