Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Haven't posted for awhile, but thought I would throw this out and see if anyone else has been told they have this... I posted to you that I have had intermittent spotting since the sixth or so week. I have had four ultrasounds in that time and up until the last one, they couldn't see a reason. I had my 12 week nuchal translucency ultrasound about ten days ago now. The results show that baby is right size, length etc for dates and the nuchal screen shows that measurements are consistent with a baby without genetic problems. We are still probably going to go ahead with the triple screen but the results were a relief. They did diagnose a cause/reason for the spotting, calling it a " moderate subchorionic bleed " ...What the Dr explained was that the placenta being so vascular may have torn a way a bit and caused bleeding. No, it isn't an abruption or a previa (?yet), but it could in the future lead to second trimester fetal loss, premature labor or placental insufficiency. Funny thing is that at the time of the u/s, I hadn't bled for five days (and now its been almost two weeks since the last bleed).... Dr said that she has delivered alot of women who had healthy babies who have had the intermittent bleeding, but that of course I could do no excercising, stretching or heavy lifting... Has anyone else had experience with this diagnosis? I am thankful to be delivering with an OB who could do a c/s if needed early, etc, but I don't see her til I am 18 weeks...Am I headed for bedrest?
