Guest guest
Well, first off... let me start by saying that everyone was wonderful! :-) we met three RSS families, one of which lives near my husband's mother in Northern VA and it really did us good. The trip was uneventful, just loooooonnnnng. Surprisingly enough, the NYC traffic wasn't too bad. Either that, or the DC traffic IS that bad and we're desensitized to it... lol We actually got in pretty quickly to see Dr H and I have to say, everyone there is great! They went out of their way to help get all the info we needed. Dr. H is abrupt and brusque, but she doesn't sugarcoat and she told us what we needed. In short, we really like her. Alyssa's diet was changed drastically and we're starting her on 2 weeks of Zantac and Prevacid and then the Periactin starts. Since our newest bundle of joy is going to be arriving in April, Dr H has us going back in March for Alyssa to be eval-ed at which time they MAY put her on a G tube. We're not sure how we feel about that, but... if it is what she needs, then... you know? Luckily, Alyssa IS a eater, so we're hoping the zantac/prevacid and periactin routine will do it. She gave us the info to contact our local school district and get her started on their programs. We didnt even know about a lot of the things that she has us going to do now. We're kinda pissed with our drs right now. But we have a plan now and we are SO glad that we found this group, otherwise, we would have never known about Dr H. Thank you all, so much! I'll update as we go... Everyone take care and thank you to everyone who emailed about where to eat and the spreadsheet. We really appreciate it. And also, none of you were kidding. We were there until 4:30PM! LOL Thank you! :-) The Joyners , , Alyssa (RSS) & Mia
