Guest guest
Hi Jodi Definitely take in for a check up. Like you say his lungs are not at full capacity and you don't need complications. It could be nothing or it could be a secondary infection. At the very least, often antibiotics don't work the first time, especially with ear infections and they need another dose. Congestion in nose can result in ear infections too so even if he's been cleared up from the first one a new one could be brewing. I wouldn't run like the wind immediately to the doctor's in a state of panic () but I would go back and have it checked. By the way, you are not being paranoid at all. This is one of the more " fun " joys of motherhood (said with much saracasm!!) Good luck and let us know how he is doing. Debby

Guest guest
Mucho sympathy to you and your sister in sorting through Mom's clothing, especially since there is so much of it. My sister and I had a harder time dealing with Mama's clothing than anything else. My sister's here and we are trying to dispose of Mom's clothing. She had three rooms full of it. <sigh> It's too old to be fashionable, but not old enough to be funky or retro. — Marilyn

My Mom passed on 29 October. She had developed Alzheimers the last 4-5 months, and we used a hospice service to keep her at home because her greatest fear was being placed in a nursing home. My sister came in the week before, and Mom basically said good bye to her, and then closed her eyes, and never opened them again, though it took her a week to pass. We haven't found any treasures yet... we are mostly cleaning out her clothing, which is being donated to a women's shelter. Mom was a clothes-a-holic. We have taken two Grand Caravans full and have touched maybe a quarter of the clothes she had packed in my old bed room, my sister's old bedroom, and her bedroom. If we're lucky, we'll get my old bedroom cleared. It's especially tough for me because I used to take Mom shopping, and so I remember many, many of the outfits and formals and other things -- and when she bought them. My sis has always lived away, so she's doing most of the sorting. Marge only has ten days down here, then has to get back home. She'll come back again in 2-3 months. It's going to take a long time to get everything cleared out. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Guest guest
It is tough to do clothing anyhow, I think because we see our Moms in those outfits so they feel like a part of them. All the more so if you helped her shop for a lot of them, you remember the fun you had with those shopping trips and all. My mother always dressed up, and she made her own beautiful dresses. Once she was too tired to sew any more, then I sewed for her in her last years, so I remember the trips to the fabric store, the fitting sessions, and all. All this is so much a part of our memories of our mothers. It is a good thing your sister can come help and that she is a little dissociated from the clothing and can do the main sorting. I'm glad she can come back periodically; I think it's just too hard emotionally to try to deal with it all at once. One needs breaks. Good luck with it. At best there always seems to end up so much more stuff even than you thought there would be. Yes.
