Guest guest
Welcome back, a! Wow, you have sure gone through alot... By 'surgery', I am taking to mean you are saying the weight loss surgery right? Well, I have to tell you, from my experience it WAS the WLS surgery that cured my PCOS and allowed me the amazing gift of fertility... I too was on Clomid 150 mg for TEN days out of the month a few yrs ago...for PCOS. I was extremely overweight and went through alot of the fertility rigamarole...and I still didn't ovulate..I had my surgery in May of 2003 and I got my first medically unassisted period in two yrs JUST 2 weeks post op...After that, I got one every month...mind you, I never knew when I ovulated because they ranged between 20-40 days... Anyway, here's where I feel the Gods finally smiled down on us...We were told to absolutely use bc for 9-12 mos post op, which we did (pretty funny and ironic actually for a couple who have struggled with infertility their whole marriage, lol)...So, come Feb 2004, I cut up the remaining condomes (that was at 9 mos post op). Miracle of all miracles, we got prego the FIRST MONTH....after needing provera for yrs to have a period every 4-6 mos, all it took for me to ovulate is to lose the weight. In the 9 mos post op, I lost 105 lb and was within 10 or so lb of goal... So a, I just want you to have hope...of course, I wish you every bit of luck with the clomid this time around....but I want you to know how much your body and hormone levels change with pcos once weight loss is achieved...that an the insulin resistance is greatly reduced/eliminated... And I am so very very sorry about your loss of baby at 23.5 weeks. I am almost 23 weeks now and I can only imagine how awful it was for you...I live in fear every day of losing this baby. I know it can happen, but I am so thankful that I have this chance to become a Mommy...and I know you will too... Sending big hugs, EDC Nov 10/04 > Hi everyone!
