Guest guest
Lately I've been curious about something. These doctors who are getting bad results, or doing a half-baked version of the Ponseti method, or misinforming parents of their choices, etc, etc.....can't they be made liable for this? Does anyone know of parents who have tried to take it further? I'm not a legal or medical person, but it seems very close to malpractice, and it could be proved in various recent studies by Ponseti doctors on the rate of success, vs. the rate of surgery done by non-Ponseti method. So why can't these doctors be made to take responsibility for their actions? It would take only one high-publicity case and they would probably think twice before doing it again. And if they still don't want to learn the Ponseti method, then at least refer to another doctor who does. I'm thinking more about the US, because currently in South Africa, you have very little chance of success taking on doctors for bad treatment. Just a thought.
