Hi Donne

I'm also in South Africa. I'm sure I have a couple of spare clips at

home, but if I'm right, you're in Port and I'm in

Johannesburg, so you can't fetch them from me! Sorry I can't check

right now because is asleep and his room is dark!

In the meantime though, you could use an automotive hose clamp that you

wrap around the bar and tighten with a screwdriver. Any spares shop

will have them.

Also, you could contact Gavin Shnier of Orthocast and ask him for a few

spare clips - let me know if you need a number for them. We usually

keep a few because they can break or strip quite easily if you

overtighten the screw.

Re shoes, the Woolworths Walkmates have always worked well for us. Dr

Ponseti said barefoot is best (not a good idea for winter though!),

alternatively shoes with nice bendy soles and some ankle support is good

when they first start walking. Last winter when was a year old he

had some high top sneakers which worked well.

Hope this helps!

Help! Join on bar has cracked

Hi all

Please help. My daughter, Jenna has managed to crack one of the

black, plastic " " joins " on her adjustable bar (red one). Just before

bedtime , of course. My husband has strapped it with tape so long.

Our next appointment with her Doctor and orthotist is in a months

time. They are out of town... will obviously contact them ASAP, but

some ideas would be great.

Also, Jenna is a year old with bilateral CF and I find her feet very

bendy especially when crawling. We joke that she has rubber feet.

Does this sound familiar?

Can't decide what shoes are best... Hard sole, ankle support, soft

sole... for every day wear. We are in winter here in South Africa.

Regards

Donné
