Guest guest
I have recently joined this great group and I read all of the post when I have the time. I am 8 weeks pregnant and feel sick most of the time. WHY DO THEY CALL IT MORNING SICKNESS? I am sick all hours of the day! I have tracked it down to this: I am hungry, eat and then feel sick. Someone told me that normal pregnant women develope an lining of iron in their stomach and then when they eat it makes them nauseas. So I was figuring that since my old stomach meets up with the new stuff that maybe I was experiencing this nausea when everything joined up. I asked the nurse about this and because I am only the second WLS patient they have ever had they didnt really know. She said that it did kinda make sense. But she also assured me that I am almost down with the first trimester and that I should start to feel better soon. This was a suprise baby for me. I was not planning on this for another year. I even thought that because of female problems I have had associated with my weight that I would never be able to have kids and I had resigned myself to adoption. Well suprise suprise. The LORD had something else in mind for me. I am adjusting to the idea of being a mom and starting to get really excited. I am a research freak and have been reading so much information on everything. Pregnancy after WLS, breastfeeding, childbirth ... all of it. My doctor said I should be advising/lecturing other WLS pregnant women. I have also been very lucky to be blessed with a fantastic surgeon. He quickly responded to my message when I found out that I was pregnant. He was quick to put my mind to rest. He said that I might even continue to loose through much of the pregnancy. In fact I have lost another 4lbs. Any information that everyone post on this site relating to nutrition/supplements and eating right is GREATLY appreciated. Right now I dont want to eat any meat. So I am trying to eat beans, cheese and nuts. Plus the protien drinks. Good luck to all mommies to be! ~HUGS~ Shalonda RNY 9/11/03 300/175/???
