I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with Dr. H's office. I

also know the feeling and can sympathize. I was fortunate enough,

however, to reach Dr. H. at 7 last night and had a great

conversation with her. (More about that in a minute.)

That other person who answers the phone for Yadira is really

incompetent. I have spoken to her before, she has promised to speak

to Dr. H. and get back to me and she never does. Today I had to

call again because of last night's conversation and when that person

answered, I asked to speak to Yadira. When Yadira came on the

phone, I apologized for not wanting to speak to that person, but I

explained that I don't find her to be helpful or to follow through

with anything. Yadira said she understood and that it was fine to

do what I did.

By the way, Dr. H. is leaving Feb. 6.

So, why did I need to speak to Dr. H? Max has hiccups. Not the

usual, run of the mill hiccups, but hiccups that last for up to 4

hours at a time. When Dr. H. heard him in the background last

night, she immediately got on the internet and began to research the

best way to treat them. She understood Max's discomfort and

frustrations (as well as mine - imagine listening to that for

hours!) and wanted to help. The solution? One is ICE POPS!!! The

goal is to numb the esophagus and diaphragm which are being

irritated, thereby causing the hiccups. The internet source

suggested ice water, but I came up with ice pops. Much more

palatable. We are also using that Transderm Scop patch behind Max's

ear. Something in that will help longterm, or so she says.

Anyway, Judith, if you can't get the syringes, then call your

pediatrician. We used to do that for Max when we ran out and could

not reach Dr. H. Meanwhile, I hope things get straightened out.

Dr. H. is really busy for some major reasons I can tell you

privately. It does not excuse what is going on, but it helps

explain it.
