Guest guest
Barbara It was me. I still have itching from this product, but it doesn't cause a reaction or tape burn. It is available in bandage forms, but not in a sheet or tape in the stores. I'm thinking it might be available in medical supply stores, but haven't looked. They are called " Next Generation " bandages and are make by the major bandage companies and even some store brands. I have gotten the Meijer brand and Bandaid brand. There is also a thin patch that is used on IV sites, so the site can be seen through them. I have had good luck with these. When I was on IV antibiotics, the same patch stayed on for 4 weeks. laurie > Recently someone mentioned an adhesive product that was useful for people > with a tape allergy. Laurie, was it you? Guest guest
Thanks. I'll send my husband out and see what he can find. I didn't find anything called " next generation " online but found J & J " advanced healing " bandages. I had something like that on my last IV in hospital. What I'm looking for is some way to keep the split gauze in place around my stoma---something adhesive that my skin can tolerate indefinitely. Even hypoallergenic paper tape causes redness and swelling and hives. We'll keep looking. Barbara > Re: tape allergy question > > Barbara > > It was me. Guest guest
My suggestion to everyone is " Do Not Use " a wonderful baindaid by Tyco Healthcare in Mansfield MA if you have any type of tape allergy as the ARNA at Cotton-O'Neil insisted on putting one on me after a B-12 shot and I have a horrible looking arm from the " new, wonderful, non-allergenic bandaid. I look like I have been " dogbit " at least as I have a break in my skin and these neat blooy looking things under my skin?? Just my experience??? Good Luck and God Bless, Dolores Barbara Seaman wheatchild@...> wrote:Recently someone mentioned an adhesive product that was useful for people with a tape allergy. Laurie, was it you? Guest guest
You might want to do a search on foam medical tape. Barbara Seaman wrote: >Thanks.
