Guest guest
Kara, lies' " wish granter " from A Special Wish called Monday. They are granting her wish to travel to Colorado. She wants to meet her penpal and " see the mountains " . Our family will be traveling in September. We will be staying in either Longmont or Estes Park (they are still working to arrange lodging). My big concern and question revolves around the high altitude. and lies both require oxygen and ventilatory support while sleeping and intermittently during the day. What can I expect in regards to the altitude change and how do you accommodate for the change and potential respiratory compromise? I need to make arrangements for medical equipment and supplies later this week. I want to ensure that I will have what I will need when we arrive. Guest guest
Joanne All I can speak to is when I was in the Denver area before my symptoms were bad. I did have issues when I tried to walk or climb, so they might want a wheelchair available. It got better after a few days. If you are driving and have the time to acclimate at different altitudes before reaching there, it might help. I'm glad they are going to get to have their wish granted and hope you all have a great time. laurie > Kara, lies' " wish granter " from A Special Wish called Monday. Guest guest
I am in northern Az and I am at the same altitude as Denver, when we moved here we were always dizzy and tired, use caution with both.
