Guest guest
Hello to all, I have been so busy this week, but I have been wanting to write and share the *wonderful* pre-IEP team meeting I had with Graham's team last Tuesday. Everyone ( and I mean everyone) on the team was raving about all the gains he has been demonstrating this last quarter. Socially, he is starting to bloom, asking other kids to play, sharing things and generally being much more aware of his surroundings. He is now listening to stories and sitting near the teacher so he can see the pictures in books; he passed his addition facts time test, making up the sentences for the weekly spelling tests, etc. His current sub teaching assistant (other one quit-long story) hasn't worked with him since fall and she said he was like a totally different child. We all agreed on 2nd grade for next year with support and I was walking on air when I left! He has been GFCF since middle of January, and I really believe it is helping him so much. Plus, he recently started his supplement regimen from the Pfeiffer Treatment Center here in Naperville. Anyway, I am long winded, but the happy stories of others encourage me, too, so hopefully mine will be encouraging. It is so worth the effort! Everyone have a terrific week. Fondly, J--mom to Graham (6 yrs for 2 more weeks!, probable Asperger's syndrome) and Hayley (10 yrs for 2 more weeks!, mild ADD) PS--I have found French Toast Crunch at my regular grocery stores here in Chicago 'burbs--Jewel, Meijer, etc.
