Guest guest
Hey Mel, Since you're not going 'cold turkey' (anyway yet)... you might as well try the SCD legal crackers with jam sold at www.digestivewellness.com ... they have many good cookies, breads, products; they are usually for the later stages, but don't give up, try it! Are the kids on digestive enzymes, omega 3's and 6's, and probiotics? ... it would probably help the transition. Agape, memoryalbumcreations wrote: Well, guys, It's been 2 or 3 weeks now trying to do this diet. I haven't had much luck at all. My plan WAS to replace their favorites with SCD legal substitutes (waffles, pancakes, pb & j sandwiches, crackers) but they don't like anything I make! A couple of times Wesley has tried something and didn't like it to the point of gagging and spitting it out. A few times he wouldn't even try it just because of looks...like this morning when I tried making those pecan waffles that Carol F. suggested (thanks Carol...I liked 'em at least!) I tried the Mock Whole Wheat Bread from SCD with Taste and Tradition (basically it's a giant pb cookie!!! especially with more pb & SCD Jam! mmmm) He actually took a bite of just the bread and won't eat any more...not even with the pb & j on it! I don't know what to do! He's always crying that he wants something to eat, but I don't have anything to give him! Any advice would be appreciated. Guest guest
Not sure about the coconut, but I'll try it when he's ready for it. Didn't you say coconut wasn't allowed until later in the diet? And the fudge sounds delish! Thanks! --Mel

My kids and I are drinking the grape and another flavor would be appreciated. Sorry if I already asked this, I'm also trying to make the jello into different shapes using molds. I'm trying to make them look as close to those gummy fruit snacks as possible and need other colors, but would really like to use other juices rather than food coloring in white grape juice to change colors (my original idea...haven't tried it yet, though) --Mel

Knudson has a line of legal juices called " Just Juice " http://www.knudsenjuices.com/products/category.aspx?groupID=7 & categoryID=53 Have yourself a wiggly jiggly ball! Carol F. Guest guest
Mel, There's a whole line of JUST JUICE from Knudsen. You could use any of those. You can also juice fruit yourself and use it. Also Dole pineapple juice works. It makes the jello almost clear colored. I've used carrot juice to turn jello orange. It's a pretty color. I used about 2/3 pineapple and 1/3 carrot juice I think. The jello is no longer transparent with carrot juice. A bit of spinach juice will turn it green and doesn't really flavor it. Use pineapple and just a small amount of spinach juice. Guest guest
I used 3 cups beet juice from cooking beets with 1 cup juice extracted from frozen strawberried thawed. Threw in the crushed, cooked berries. Tasted amazing non-beetish ;o) Becky mom to Noah (6, HFA) and (3, NT) SCD 2.5 weeks > > I've used carrot juice to turn jello orange. It's a pretty color. I'll prolly try it if this jiggler thing works out. Thanks again! --Mel
