Guest guest
IT is called " health psychology " ...I am looking into it today...will let you know. Going to our University web sites in our city to look into programs. Would like to get a Ph.D. in Health Psychology with an emphasis in research. I think most Ph.D programs automatically include the masters....half way through you get your masters...if I am right I will let you know? I have thought about it long and hard and now don't want to waste my time " with the nutrition part of my education " since most teachers will not know what we now know! I have been to countless nutritionalists with degrees last year NONE OF THEM WHERE ABLE TO HELP US...all of them had HORRIBLE ADVICE in light of what Elaine and this list have offered!!!!!!! In other words...until now we never had this kind of success...why would I want to learn what the " norm " know...YIKES! THIS WOULD BE SO COOL....there would be TWO OF US! I don't know about you but my dream is to help the Elaine Foundation with there research! Antoinette (SCD day 31 entire family) Re: Re: Beautiful Miracles I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am 35 and finishing my BS in psychology and nutrition. you're going to be four years older either way so why not have a phd to go along with it? If you find a program that offers a MS to combine the two let me know! I like the sound of nutritional psychology! I say go for it! joey -- In pecanbread , " Bunce " wrote: > > Hey Carol and anybody else.... > > I know that you may think that I may be a big dreamer ...and at one time was called as crazy as a fox....but here it is: > > I already have a BA in Psychology and an associated in Veterinary Technology. Guest guest
Remember, nutritionists operate from an opinion base, their own. Nutrition is a very exciting and valid field of study, there is research out there, while oblivious to SCD or Elaine Gottschall existing, are verifying other aspects of SCD to be true. I think SCD can be benefitted from any field anyone enters, there is more than one angle to everything, to have nutritionists understand the complexity of leaky gut and food, would be a humongous leap for understanding food, and how it relates to health. Psychology, Environmental Medicene, Nutrionist, Food Scientist, any type of Researcher, Allopathic Doctor, Naturopathic Doctors, any type of Therapist (OT, PT, Speech, Behavoiral, etc.) Herbalists, Accupuncturists, Chiropractors, Teachers, Care Givers and so on, each of these areas would benefit by understanding and using SCD. You have to know as much as you can. There is no " norm " . If you want to train to become an allopathic doctor, you have to learn everything in the books and go from there. If you want to train as a psychologist, you have to learn everything. There is nothing wrong with what the " norm " knows. Its what they do not know, and why an open mind is critical when amassing information on any field of study.
