Guest guest
Tuleta, Some people have done the things you are doing. Some people even try to eat fast foods after leaving the hospital. The beauty of this surgery is, you will get sick as LLL if you cheat. A hamburger will not taste so good when you are vomiting and you stomach is bubbling with gas. One sip of coke will make you gag. Foods you once loved will not taste the same. I am one who has had a hard time eating anything. But, on Monday, I ate mushy vegetables because I was feeling week. Well, I promptly vomited, which is no fun. So, I know you will probably TRY to cheat, but you will not get the pleasure you once derived from fatty meals. le five weeks post op 272/247/

I ate at my grand's house and prayed I would not vomit and didn't. I have vomited on three or four occasions, but my husband and SIL knew about it. Each time I was eating vegetables. But, if I get sick, it is IMMEDIATE...within minutes...sometimes seconds. I don't have the nerve to try other stuff. Sometimes you will eat something and it will stay down. Other times the same foods will cause you to vomit. I don't eat meat, so my selections are limited. SO, yes, there is always trepidation when eating ANYTHING, because I never know how my tummy will react. My tummy is temperamental and throws tantrums. So, I try to treat her with kid gloves. So, not only do I have trouble eating, I am afraid to eat most foods anyway. I am still on a soft/liquid diet, but it's trial and error. I eat tums like candy. That helps some. le
Guest guest
le, I've read your post to Tuleta. Have you had any experiences with getting sick very suddenly and being in an embarrassing situation or do you normally know when you have goofed and have time to seek privacy? I am very nervous about my post op life but I just keep telling myself that I will adjust to whatever is necessary. Guest guest
Hello Tuleta from Florida, No you are NOT a nutcase....I myself 'pigged' out for almost 5+ months, while waiting from October 1999 to my actual surgery date of May 26, I ate like there was no tomorrow! (I did not realize it was going to take as long as it did waiting for insurance etc). As far as diet coke withdrawal....after surgery you should not have any desire for it. Pre-op I drank 3-5 diet cokes a day, after surgery on May 26, 2000, I have not had any diet cokes or any desire for one at all. Same for suger.....no desire whatsoever!!! It is absolutely wonderful!!! Do you have a surgery date? What part of Florida are you in? I used to live in ville & Palm Harbor (near Clearwater), Florida! {{hugs}} in Raleigh MGB=5/26/2000 >MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com wrote: > >I'm also worried like you are about the liquid thing after post-op, >I'm terrified that right in the hospital after surgery I'm going to >have a terrible Mcs french fry withdrawl...and Coke, is anyone >else a Coke freek?
