Hi, I seriously doubt you will want the same thing after surgery. Your

body will be adjusting to the new tummy and probably won't want to eat

for awhile. If you try to eat a Mc's after surgery, you will

probably throw up. Then you will be cured for sure.

Dinah,

It's like we have abottomless pit. Or, we are characters in some type of

movie. Anyway, be encouraged. Stop eating when you do and follow the good

doctor's direction, I think we will be fine.

<< I'm also worried like you are about the liquid thing after post-op,

I'm terrified that right in the hospital after surgery I'm going to

have a terrible Mcs french fry withdrawl...and Coke, is anyone

else a Coke freek? I drink like, 6 a day and I'm praying that I'll

be able to live without it. >>

Taleta, take a deep breath and just relax, woman! I used to suck down diet

Coke like there was no tomorrow. I don't miss it a bit. About two weeks

ago, I tried a sip and I just don't care for it any more. That is a miracle!

(As all my family and friends could tell you.) In terms of Mc's and

other fast food...it doesn't even register on my " want " meter any more. I

tried a french fry about a month ago and it tasted like straight lard. It

ended up in a napkin because I couldn't even finish chewing it. I'm a little

over six months post-op and I'm down 88 pounds and many, many inches. You'll

be fine, girl. You will. I just used chicken broth, beef broth (see if you

can get the kind that comes in glass jars in your local grocers), V8,

Gatorade, o.j., applesauce, cottage cheese, yogurt and tomato soup during my

first three months after surgery. I used my Juiceman and made all sorts of

veggie and fruit juices. I used my blender and made smoothies and protein

drinks. I bought 3-ounce plastic cups and just used those as the containers.

They hold just enough of something to make a meal out of those first three

months. I still drink plenty of protein drinks, keep the Juiceman whirring,

and make smoothies in my blender. I find that " real " food is very

filling...about a third of a cup is all I can comfortably handle in a half

hour's eating time. I can get two or three servings from the protein drinks

and smoothies. You will be just fine, honey. Dee in MI (MGB 16 Dec 99)

REally should slowly wean yourself off coke before your surgery date or you get

a

horrible caffeine/sugar withdrawal headache (been there, done that). I think

Dr.

R mentions that in the patient manual or somewhere. I was really addicted to

coke but after being diagnosed with diabetes had to quit - darn!!!
