Guest guest
Hi Antoinette--and anyone else interested--:-) Yep--it's me--I'm finishing up this doctorate--mine is an Ed.D., which is " Doctor of Education " as opposed to " Doctor of Philosophy " --basically the same thing, but I'm in the education world, so an Ed.D. is better for me--more practically focused than theoretically focused. And, yes, it did cost a pretty penny. I would advise doing the Master's at a public institution, and if you have schools around you, do it in residence. It's usually cheaper that way. Then, you can cross the bridge of adding the doctorate when you finish the Master's. Just my opinion. My doctorate is coming from Vanderbilt, so basically, it will take a good year's salary to pay off the student loan when it's all said and done. Ouch! But, it was worth it--blood, sweat, and tears, but worth it. was diagnosed a few weeks into my first semester at Vanderbilt, and if I hadn't had that level of distraction, I would have lost my ever-lovin' mind. Thinking we were out of the woods, medically, and then having someone say, " lifelong disability " was almost too much for me to take back then. We did see doctor Kucera, and I did like him. His appointments run a bit late sometimes--that was the only thing I remember not liking about him. :-) He is a nice man, and very nutritionally focused. We saw him before he spoke at a DAN conference if I'm not mistaken. We moved from there a while ago, so it was about a year and a half since we've seen him. I believe he would support this diet--one hundred percent. In listing all the stuff we did for , I left off the most important thing--prayer, prayer, and more prayer! :-) I have prayed to God every night for help and relief for , and I think it has paid off. Like I said, we still have a way to go with --but goodness, how far we've come! I say go for the degrees you want--I have a supportive husband, too--and I feel like I can do anything with his help, even though things do get hectic! Take care, --Mom to + two NT kids
