Ode to the Diet Pepsi...

Oh, my dear sweet bubbly,

My delicious delightful best friend

Who ever would have thought that our friendship

Would come to this sorrowful end?

You've been there for me

Through all of life's downs and ups

Always willing to dispense your friendship

By the thousands--thousands of cans, bottles & cups

It hardly seems fair to you

After all, you're calorie free

But alas, my sweet, it's not the calories…

Your carbonation spells out the death of thee!

I'm going to see Dr. R in Durham

By all accounts a wonderful man

But the wonderful miracle he'll bestow on me

Will end our loving relationship-not even another can!

We still have two weeks together, my sweet

So until July 20th, I'll enjoy you while I'm able

But oh, Dear God, how I'll truly miss

Your beautiful red, white & blue label!

I am a diet pepsiaholic. Thank you for such a cute poem. I actually had to

give up mine a couple of days ago. I am on the Atkins Diet and ever since I

cut all carbs out and my body adjusted Diet Pepsi tastes like water with a

bunch of sweet n low in it. So I am grateful I will have given it up well in

advance. I am having a lot of problems with chocolate though. I miss it

terribly. Congratulations on your surgery date on July 20th.

Love,

Lara

a,

Your poem was great! Diet Coke is my addiction, but the meaning is

the same.

Thanks for the laugh!
