Hi,

i wanted to ask everyone, does a " rosacea " sufferer neceserally have

to have acne in order to be diagnosed with rosacea. What i am trying

to say is that i flush very easily, and it isn't like a light pinkish

blush. When i flush, it is almost burgandy to purple color and i

feel extremely hot from the chest up. However, i don't have bad

acne, which I am extremely happy about. I used to have it here and

there, but it kind of cleared when i was put on the pill. So now i

am confused...............

If i don't have bad acne or have very little acne, it doesn't mean i

have rosacea?

Can anyone please help me with this?

Lildilema, consult the recent NRS classification of rosacea to

convince yourself that the four subtypes (erythrotelangiectasia,

pustulopapular, ocular, and phyma) can exist independent of other

subtypes and manifestions of rosacea, or in any combination. There

were recent posts about this new classification so the archives may

be of help. A summary is posted on Dr Sy's site (I believe it's

www.lindasy.com, under the news section).
