Guest guest Posted June 17, 2002 Report Share Posted June 17, 2002 Greetings, all: I am a 29 y.o. female. I've had rosacea for, oh, at least 4 years now. I only got it diagnosed 3 years ago and then it was because I had what I thought was a stye on my eye for a year. The doc told me I had rosacea (as did the dermatologist who was no help and the eye doctor, who took one look at me and said " do you know you have rosacea? " ) I have always been a blusher and I did have acne as a teen. So I had about 5 years of clear adult skin...sigh! I am not flushing right now, although I do have some stubborn bumps and flaky skin I try not to touch. I know my triggers are spicy food, stress, and heat. I'm pretty sure a summer spent in a hot Texas restaurant kitchen triggered my symptoms. My worst flush was after I gave birth to our first child! Crying also makes me flush. My occular rosacea is greatly helped by Eye-scrub by Ciba vision. Antibiotics have done nothing for my symptoms. I am going to try flax seed oil as I know I don't get enough EFAs. I have other symptoms that might be helped by this, which may or may not be related to the rosacea. I have been tested for lupus, and that came back negative, fortunately. I just noticed I haven't received any since I signed up last night. I am on several other groups in yahoo and haven't had any problems. I checked my membership and it is correct.
