Guest guest
le, I agree. Being in the medical field, I'd flip if I found a warm fuzzy Dr, and some of my dearest friends are Dr's.....so as long as he is the best in this field(and I feel he is) he will be everything I could hope for. As for the surgery, I have not had it yet, but my 51yrs of life experience tells me nothing comes easy. The surgery is a wonderful help at stopping us from putting everything in our mouths as the moods hit us. We still must do our part, follow the meds and vitamins......or we will end up sick and a weakened immune system, along with brittle bones, loss of hair, and mood swings that would make the wildest roller coaster look like a walk in the park. But we must also follow the diet....this is NOT a cure all it is a HELP all.....Those that don't will end up with less than desired weight loss and ....possible weight gain. My Dr has a pt that had WLS (not MGB) and went in at 425 three years later with NO stomach the individual weighs 650///////////// Can you override the surgery.. I think so. I look at this as my last shot at being thin......their are no more medical breakthroughs waiting in the wings for us for probably 10+yrs. This is the most drastic, last ditch effort one can opt for......We all need to try not to grieve food, as this was the thing that almost killed us, lost our mobility, our self-esteem,our pride, our ability to do what others our same age could do in society. We get upset about ridicule , rudeness and descrimination.........well it's not going to change in the near future so we must change....and this is our last effort at that change. But I think that means change our eating habits, our lifestyle, our thought process , our priorities, and most of all our feelings about food. I know Beth is still in the emotional throws after this surgery and it will get better....but we must think ahead and never look back except to learn from our mistakes. You all are in my prayers...my surgery is but a few weeks away and Im working on mental changes now. I really hope I did not offend anyone with my 2 CENTS. Love you all Judi in Fla Quoting CuteAKA2nv@...: > Beth, > > Thanks for posting. You are so right that pre-ops need a balanced view. > Others have posted in the past and expressed similar sentiments.
