Morton Salt is fine as far as I know. If it has Morton Salt with

Iodide then it has dextrose with is illegal. Check the label. If it

has dextrose you don't want it. Just Salt.

We use Redmond's Sea Salt after Summer recommended it. Its delicious.

Isn't it true that iodine is so important to health that we need to be

using salt with iodine? And haven't I seen on this list before that

Elaine said using salt with dextrose is ok for just this reason?

We supplement my kids with iodine with E-lyte drops. They're both

deficient in iodine.

Probably. But I never add salt to my soup - just lots of vegetables and

dill. Could be that kosher chicken is saltier, despite the rinsing after

the salting necessary to drain the blood as per kosher specifications.

Take care, Fay

Yes and no. On a SAD diet, no because with all the processing one easily

gets enough iodine.

If anyone has any history of thyroid disorder and still has an intact,

functioning (even if imperfectly) thyroid, I wouldn't advise cooking with

iodine, or taking a multi with iodine. I'll be happy to take this offlist

if anyone's interested. Take care, Fya

That's true about iodine. There are several salts with iodine that

don't contain dextrose, so those would be a better alternative than

Morton's, especially for the corn-sensitive kids. I can't speak to

Elaine's reason's for approving dextrose in salt.

Hey again Brent!

Sorry about the kiddos fighting! Other drink ideas for suumer...make sun tea,

lemon slices and mint sprigs set in the sun to solar infuse, orange slices and

water placed in the sun, mint and pears, mint and oranges, peppermint sun tea,

lemon and lime tea. My kids have alot of fun with the fruit flavored water.:)
