Guest guest
Okay, everyone. In your opinion, what is the best SCD bread recipe you've tried? I have a boat load of bread recipes to try, but I cringe in fear of using up all my eggs (not that eggs are hard to come by, but most of the recipes do call for a lot of them!) and my almond flour before I hit the jackpot. So I'm taking a poll. Vote for your favorite bread here! --Mel Wes 4.5 yo ASD Phoebe 2.5 yo not diagnosed, but has some quirky behaviors Still trying to go SCD but we've been completely legal for the past few days. Saw a lot of die off in Pheebs already! (oh, I'm POSITIVE it was die off! phew!) and some flecks in Wes's bm's yesterday! Wowee!
Guest guest
Thanks, Diane! That's one vote for Cashew Butter Bread! Thanks for the idea of halving the recipes, too...don't ask me why I never thought of that! --Mel

There may be better ones, but I refuse to use my yoghurt for baking. , mom to

One more thing about not wasting ingredients. My first try at cashew butter bread didn't work. It fell and the slices looked like greyhounds and butterflies. :-) But they tasted even better (sort of custardy) than the fully baked bread, so even though we couldn't make sandwiches with them, we enjoyed eating them. , mom to
Guest guest
two votes for Cashew Butter Bread...guess I should go out and buy Cashew Butter, eh? There's a store in my neighborhood (sorta) that sells it so it's not really a problem. --Mel
Guest guest
Is the Cashew Butter Bread sweet? I'm looking for something to make sandwiches with, so I think a less sweet bread would be better for that. (I say less sweet because I know most commercial sliced breads do have sugar in them and a very lightly sweet taste, but not like a dessert.) --Mel
Guest guest
Mel, I make the cashew butter bread without honey and oil. I have found this to make it more like sandwich bread rather than a cofee cake type of bread. I make deli sandwiches with it and it holds up nicely. I also make paninis and they grill up nicely. The bread has a subtle but naturally sweet aftertaste that won't interfere with your other ingredients in the sandwich. Hope that helps. son 4.5 asd scd 1.7yrs daughter 6 --- memoryalbumcreations wrote: > Is the Cashew Butter Bread sweet?
