Guest guest
Hi Lara, In regards to Flintstones vitamins.......yes they are a children's vitamin but they are also an adult vitamin as well. If you read the label you will find that they provide 100% daily requirements for adults including calcium, iron and minerals. I found it impossible to swallow Wal-Marts One Source Vitamin because of the sheer size.....it is gigantic X's 3!!! My tummy was too sensitive to tolerate that monster. I was able to chew three Flintstones at one time with no problem........I figured that was better than no vitamins at all. I'm going to call Debbie to see what the problen is with Flintstones. I took Flintstones Complete. Thanks for the info. Best Wishes, Genz LaraAkin033100@... wrote: > The subject of Flinstones vitamins came up into discussion at clinic. Guest guest
Hi Karin, No I wouldn't try to take three One Source Vitamins at one time. I can't even manage one. In my Discharge Instructions under the Multivitamins the first sentence says: Dose: Take the multivitamin at three times the dose recommended by the label on the bottle of vitamins that you have purchased. Do not start the vitamins until 2 WEEKS AFTER SURGERY, THEN, REMEMBER, YOU NEED TO TAKE VITAMINS FOR THR REST OF YOUR LIFE. Numerous vitamin brands are probably acceptable. You should select one that includes IRON in the list of minerals. Wal-Mart sells a brand called " OneSource " Multivitamins. One of these three times a day is a good choice. The Flintstones weren't the best tasting in the world so I chose to chew all three at once thus taking three times the recommended dose. I have since graduated to the small One A Day Essential. However according to Dr. R's latest post it does not contain enough B12 either. So, once again I will attempt to find a suitable Multi-vitamin that I can tolerate. The size is very important to my tempermental tummy. A liquid multi-vitamin would be superb. I wonder if the pharmacist could concoct one.
