Guest guest
It does help. Thank you for your response. I plan on reading more about these enzymes. At this point we will keep it slow, simple, and let stool formation be our guide to try another food or increase her carbs. It might be easier to administer this diet too this way for us with everything else going on. It gives me time to adjust and think out clearly her next food. Work, clean, dishes, prepare sauces, meats, soups. Its a lot. Ella shows no signs of a ketonic state. She's growing, happy, coherent, normalized bloodwork, CRP, etc. I've read one author that says Ketones can be used by the brain as energy like glucose can be. That ketosis is more of a concern with people that are starving. Thats not Ella's case. She eats and eats and eats. One thing I realized though is that kids naturally go in growth spurts and plateaus. Children's hospital mentions this can cause parents lots of concern when kids stop eating as much for awhile. Ella grew quickly last summer (when the sun was out) then did not in the fall. The sun is returning and it can't be understated that she now has much more healing thanks to the SCDiet. I went back and looked at her growth chart and saw this seasonal tendency in her prior years despite her symptoms. Agreed. Elaines brilliance is in its curing and healing the gut. Realizing that it was renegade microbes and the foods that feed them that create symptoms. Its simply different microbes for different people causing different symptoms. In the end, they all live in the murky depths of the colon and wreak havoc on our systems. No other diet goes about it this way that I've seen. And now we see an increased awareness amongst doctors and researchers discoveing the same thing-- The two Australian Doctors receiveing the Nobel prize for discovering that H. Pylori Bacterium causes ulcers in the gastric region. (Oddly enough...they were given this award just a few days before we got Ella's Crohns diagnosis and heard of the SCDiet that goes about healing by targeting bacteria) And just a few weeks ago Dr Borody from Australia reporting his findings that Crohns is a Mycobacteria Avum Paratuberculos in the same family as the H. Pylori. (This is what Dr. Crohns himself thought it was 50-60 years ago) Still, Dr Wakefield's findings that Autism is a mutated measels virus living in the intestinal track. Two doctors that reported two kids cured of symptoms by SCD at Stanford also are specializing in this area. Its seems there is much renewed interest in this field of study. Elaine had renegade microbes in her scope and God Bless her for that. We are starving them and giving them a new address called the sewer! Sorry guys! Not in my daughter! You can be certain of that! I agree on your label comment. Ella is going to kindergarten next year. For her health diagnosis I put " allergic to complex sugars " thanks to many of the comments here. It is a crime. I know of a family with an autistic child that did the GFCF and is skeptical now of any dietary approach. From us Push me Pull yous to you Yaks! Brent. From one ***Elaine seems to be the only one who knew it was one BAG OF INTESTINAL PROBLEMS......not the many as they think.........notice how the book speaks to all of us: Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Diverticulitits, Celiac Disease, Cystic Fibrosis and Chronic Diarrhea...and then she realized that this also included the autistics/ASD people....you see one book...speaking to all of us....not in several books....but ONE****. " Hope this helps, call Lucy at Lucy's kitchen Shop (...she has much experience strength and hope and loves to share (when she isn't swamped)! You see we all belong. Nothing unique about any of us....just one big thing in common damaged GUTS! That make us all feel sick. Sincerely, Antoinette and the " Silly Yaks " at the Bunce Zoo..... now you know why I don't put " Celiac " ....you see we are " silly yaks " ....nothing classical celiac about us....this is why the traditional gluten free diet did not work...and does not work for many celiacs! It's a crime that this stupid Gluten Free Diet even started as far as I am concerned....it is keeping to many of us terribly and dangerously sick. Thank God for a few doctors getting their act together and looking at the gut and diet instead of PILLS and surgery to fix everything! In the end...we plan on loosing all our diagnosis....the SCD way....this will be a day we celebrate and tell the world our story! Sincerely, Antoinette, my husband and the Silly Yaks at the Bunce Zoo! Re: Brent/ " Just Curious " It does help. Thank you for your response. I plan on reading more about these enzymes.
