If anybody in the family has neurally mediated hypotension, sauna or sweat lodge is not a good idea. Suspect NMH if anybody has chronically low blood pressure, or a tendency to faint (especially if standing still) or just feel really weak and lousy in hot environments/hot weather. I wouldn't do sauna or sweat lodge with a child under 4 in any case; with a child older than 4, only if the child can easily communicate discomfort verbally. Make sure everybody is well hydrated before sauna/sweat lodge and afterward, too. Hope this is helpful. Kayla
