After registering, you go to a room and meet your first nurse she gives you an ample gown to put on and beautiful white support stocking and a pair of booties, I personally felt like a fashion plate! Next they take you to a holding area where you meet with the sleep doc, get your IV, they go over all the paperwork etc., I was very uncomforable there I think just laying there with my back so straight was hurting me. Everyone was very nice. Then when they are ready for you in the OR off you go wide awake with just an IV. When you get to the OR I warn ou it is freezing my entire body was shivering. They strapped my arms out (like the letter t) then put very warm blankets on them they prop your feet up on pillows and I think you are strapped there too. At this point you are still awake and they are talking to you. Then they give you oxygen and off you go to never never land! I think I was only minimally conscious the recovery area, all I remember was trying to yank my oxygen mask off and them putting it back on. Next thing I knew I was in my final room. I do not know how I got there, I do not know when I got there, I do not know who dressed, etc. But truly I did not care. I lived for my morphine pump not because I was feeling unbearable pain but only because I didn't want too. I think I had a hard time coming out of the anesthia but once I did I was fine. I slept a lot, got up and walked around once then back to bed. Saturday the 15 Dr. R came by and said I could go home that was around 8 am and I left around 9:30.
