Guest guest
Laurie, I am not expert with most of the things you mentioned but I have learned that the baked goods need to be baked at a much lower temp. Like most of the things I set my oven for 305, bake for 1/2 to 2/3 of the bake time, lower my oven to 275 and bake for about the same time as first. I think it takes a little time in getting used to using the nut flour. I also have learned to not be quite as fussy about how something 'looks' as how it tastes. Many of the items I have made have ended up falling or a little darker than I think they should be but have good flavor and always get eaten. Be Blessed Sandy M. Guest guest
Don't be so hard on yourself. Experiment a little if you can afford to. I've been here 11 months healing my dd, making huge gains. I still make things that come out looking like it was stepped on or something sometimes. LOL! Presentation I think is the key. If you put a burning candle on it and blow it out or let the kids, the baked goodies will be devoured;) Jenn & K Re: I am not doing this right! > Laurie, I am not expert with most of the things you mentioned but I > have learned that the baked goods need to be baked at a much lower > temp. Guest guest
Sounds familiar. I have experimented with and tweaked LOTS of recipes until I made them to my liking. I have really marked up my BTVC book with recipe changes and have made a list of those that work really well and that my kids love. Cooking SCD is a bit different and definitely takes some getting used to, but keep at it, you will suddenly one day find you have a great recipe bank of things you can make with your eyes closed and they really come out great. It has made such a difference to the health of my family that we had no choice but to continue, though it was so tough at first, and I am sure glad we did. good luck, molly > > Sorry I am at major frustration.
