Hi,

We will be leaving Monday morning to drive to NC. I can't wait to see you

all. Hopefully I'll get to see everyone at the afternoon clinic, even though I

will be at the morning one. I'll check my email probably one last time

tomorrow night and then change to web only until I am back home late on Aug.

8th.

It's happening so soon now, I can hardly believe it!!!

Sara,

Be careful on your trip. I'll be leaving from Ky also on Monday morning.

I'll see you there.

Shelley,

Does the UK have any sort of rules or regulations regarding treating

pan, like the US does with JCAHO? (ie. standards of treatment for pain -

our requires that all doctors treat pain if it is above a level 3 out of

10 - though not all doctors follow this like they should) In the US, we

have pain clinics that are basically doctors for treating chronic pain.

Does the UK have places like this that you could go to?. I asked this

because you said the medication they gave you isn't covering your pain.

I recommend you find a pancreas specialist if possible and see about

getting more effective pain treatment. No one deserves to live with this

pain with minimal or no pain relief. Our group does have a UK chapter,

Tony Crispin. is the representative, if you haven't found out yet.. He

has a site for the UK people and it's URL is:

http://www.crispina.freeserve.co.uk/index.htm

It may have more information about this type of stuff over in the UK.

This way you can also email him for UK specific questions, as I am sure

he has a lot more info about how things work in the UK as opposed to the US.

Ooops! I made him cashew butter muffins today. Why don't I do nuts at

first? I was rereading (for the 10th time!) last night BTVC and it

said that there was no order for introducing anything except for the

yogurt. Since his enterolab tests showed high IgA reaction to casein,

I was going to try nut yogurt instead.

Do I have an old version of the book- should I wait for nuts?

He is doing TERRIFIC today! We had:

breakfast- 2 scrambled eggs, 1/4 pack applegate farms bacon

snack- strawberries and a mango

lunch- 5 pcs applegate farms bologna (legal?), 1/2 apricot, 1/2

cucumber

snack- wild blueberries, 2 cashew butter pumpkin muffins

and now for supper he is having tenderloin steak (w/ just sea salt)

and cucumbers and another muffin

Does this sound OK??

Here's the ingredients in the bologna- turkey, water, sodium lactate

from beets, salt, paprika, beet powder, pepper, garlic, spices, onions.

No meds or wheezing or hives at all today. Very happy. Urinating

more frequently though.

Thanks for any feedback and correction on diet,

Janet

I'm not a moderator just a lowly person learning and making mistakes

along the way. Jody or Carol may be better able to explain, but as I

understand it - Nuts are very hard to digest even as flour. The

pecanbread.com has a suggested schedule for introducing foods, even

though as I understand it Elaine didn't really think it was

necessary. But apparently the ASD kids(sorry don't know if your DS

is on the spectrum or not.) do better with the schedule. Also, I

think its so hard to tell with kids what's changing their digestion.

I know for me personally I moved to fast on the nuts and am backing

up. I hope this helps some. Good luck and welcome back!

Listen up, " lowly person " !!!! We learn something from ALL the

contributers to this list!

I second that info about introducing nuts too soon... I barreled ahead

with nuts (flours/butters/roasting my own!) in the first month and

paid the price. Bad behaviour and bms. Three months after intro, I let

our guy have the occasional nut thing and nary a prob (knock on wood!)
