Guest guest
> I am hoping to be there in September as I am thinking about trying for a September 27th date...but we'll see since I still have all the papers to do etc! Wow, Holly, I am getting excited now because that is the date I am shooting for. I have been approved for about a week now. I can't make the trip earlier because of work obligations, etc. but I know the time will go quickly. To the person who is in touch with Kandy: Please update us when you know something more. She is in my thoughts and prayers. To Dr. Bill: Do I understand correctly that you are having gout episodes even now...after the surgery? Can't you take the medication? I have only had one gout attack and that was one too many for me! in land

So far my PCP just wants to treat my gout attacks as they happen. He mainly prescibes prednisone. He has in the past given me colchecine and Indocin. I think Indocin may be a MGB no-no. I know my father and grandfather took allopurinol which I believe is more " preventive " . If I asked as many questions of my PCP as the onelist does, maybe I would be on a different regimen! Only when I start exercising [exercise=walking=golf!!] do I seem to precipitate an attack. Then I'm on prednisone and according to Dr. Carson prednisone makes you gain weight. Bye, Bill
