And make sure that you have PLENTY of legal food around so that when you feel hungry there is always something quick to grab and eat. You'll be less likely to cheat if there is an easy source of legal food around. Also, frozen bananas are really sweet. You can make some nice smoothies using cooked, then frozen fruit and homemade coconut milk or you can just make fruit slushies using cooked, frozen fruit and ice cubes. On the pot belly issue, I wouldn't be surprised. My guess would be that it is the bloating from the gas from the malabsorption.
