Gwen's message:

..........So wondering if anyone on here has been given the diagnosis of GERD or

reflux for the little ones?

This is a big one. The diagnosis is invasive or I can try the meds. If they

work, then the docs will diagnose him with GERD......

Dear Gwen,

Yes we did. KiKi and where diagnosed with GERD (meds did not help!)

As a young adult, I even had the surgery for it. I wish I had known what I am

ready to share with you...or I would have never had the surgery.....or messed

with those pills/remedies!

When we took out all DAIRY/casein AND ALL GLUTEN out of the diet (before SCD)

IT ALL VANISHED! POOF! This is a way to prove it too.....it is worth the

experiment I tell you! Also depending on how long you have been SCD...remember

healing takes time...may want to give it some time....making certain that you

are complying to " fanatical Adherance " .

ALL GONE! no joke.....I would have never had had to have this horrible surgery,

nor suffer for years taking pills that did not help!

No doctor knew that it was caused by this...I learned this from my La Leche

League group.....when I ate this stuff and nursed them....it even made their

GERD worse! Eating directly caused the worse symptoms!

Since SCD is automatically gluten free/grain free......maybe you need to take

out ALL DAIRY (cow and goat) even butter.... FOR A TRIAL OF TWO MONTHS...and see

what happens.

Hope this gives you hope...meds are just a band aid.....never worked for me!

And the surgery is HORRIBLE...wouldn't wish this on my enemy....I couldn't throw

up now if I need to...this includes when I have the flu! IT IS SO PAINFUL TO

NOT BE ABLE TO THROW UP! JUST HORRIBLE!

Sincerely, Antoinette (family problems: Celiac/ASD entire family healing the SCD

way)

I'm not sure why you ask but I'm asking about this GERD because I

have ignored the question for so long. I have just been hoping that

it wasn't the correct diagnosis. He just always wanted breastmilk.

He now eats sooooo much fruit. I'm thinking of several reasons for

this. He needs the enzymes. He gets constipated without the fruit

and we've always noticed that after eating non-fruit foods, then

getting constipated, he then would eat lots of fruit. He loves

dried mango and other non-dried fruits. Since on SCD he still eats

lot of fruits but also meats...all kinds not fried, but baked,

broiled or boiled. He eats a few veggies...and then has lots of gas

and stops eating.

Sometimes at night I can hear what I think sounds like indigestion

in his throat. He also has bad breath from time to time. Could be

yeast...we're testing him...but the no eating has been going on

since 6 months. And before that..there were mild symptoms.

If I take the fruit away without then he eats things that seem to

make him constipated or gassy. I know what SCD says about these

things...and I'm still reluctant for some reason...I just can't

articulate it right now. The intro diet might help immensely or it

might exacerbate the problem. Haven't read the other posts yet so

we'll see what others have to say. Also enzymes are key is my new

thinking and we just started Lacto so that might be one reason for

the regression.

I asked about what he is eating because of the rumbling and gas you

described.

I would go back to all cooked foods. I don't have a problem with him

eating fruit, but cook it. Nothing raw for now.

When you say he tried veggies, feels bad and stops eating them, what

veggies cause this reaction?
