You can be in Wilmington via I-40 in 2 hours. It's not a bad drive and can easily be a " day trip " . sville Beach, Carolina Beach, Southport and Fort Fisher are all within a few minutes to 45 minutes from Wilmington. I just kind of think we would like to see those beaches and if we have to hang around anyway for a few days, I'd rather be on the beach than shop!
