Guest guest
My oldest son said to me(this was when I was really upset and major venting on him), " Mom, most diets aren't absolute. How many people go on a diet for whatever reason and cheat a little bit. It is generally the reason that most diet don't work. " Hmm, I start thinking. It is true, even diabetic diets are not absolute. You can 'cheat' a little here or there. This is the understanding most people have of a 'diet'. It isn't going to make a major difference if you give them a 'little' treat once in a while. The thing is it does make a difference. To begin with a little many times leads to a lot. You start out thinking we will only do this on holidays. Then you think, well ok we can make an exception this time. Then ......... It just keeps getting worse and the next thing you are not on the diet in any form. This is coming from someone that has been on many weight loss diets and am still 60# over weight. <smile> For us it has to be absolute. I know that this will bring healing much sooner and I want to know that all our hard work and honest money being spent has been worth it as soon as possible. Why do some thing we are just 'playing' with it. Sandy M.

This motivates him! Yet also teaching him that we should never eat the way we use to ever again...or could get sick again....suffering from many of the diseases of our " civilized " high carb, starchy, sugar obsessed world! Look around you...who do you know who is not sick in some way...or over weight...or depressed! It is all of us! About your weight problem....I am certain that 4 months SCD...and you are going to see your body transform! You will be healthier too...and have more energy...and if you had depression it will be lifted, chronic pain will lessen or vanish also! My husband lost his weight/belly....he looks better than when I met him 16 years ago! This is so NICE! I am gaining weight...this is nice too! I went from 230lb (at daughter's birth), before my celiac kicked in full force.....and dropped too fast, down to 124...made everyone worried......my intestines where so sick couldn't absorb anything and this was eating 3000 plus calories a day! No joke!....now I heal....and don't have to eat so much! All of us need new clothes....because the kids are growing more normal too! AMEN! Sincerely, Antoinette (entire family SCD and wouldn't do it any other way!)
