Guest guest
Hey Dena, I had bruising! It is normal, all the manipulation does that not to mention That the Doc was punching me and dancing during my surgery, after they tried to tape up my breast. It's just skin bruising and not a thing to worry about. It goes away in another 3-4 days. My abdomen stayed a little swollen (but it was hard to tell when I was so fat anyway) for about two weeks. Guest guest
Hi Dena, I had a hematoma about the size of a football on my lower left port. I even took a picture of it to send to Dr. R but I have not sent it yet. It stopped in a perfect line where I " wear " my belt. Like in a previous post I read, the very first time that I got up to go to the bathroom post-op I started bleeding, it soaked my whole gown and I was still a little " out-of-it " and it was pretty scary. I tried to get up too fast and stressed the port I guess. The angelic blond nurse was really helpful and put my mind at ease quickly. I wish I could remember her name. [bobsy remembers her name but she is down in Gulf Shores setting up our new condo!] Anyway, this nurse was very nice and helpful. I don't know if this bruise was from the " first rising bleeding " or from something else. I was one of the heavier patients at ~393. It is my understanding that the lap instruments only come in one size and that on larger patients the surgeon has to manipulate or stretch more in order to get the " one-size fits all " instruments to the surgical target. This may have contributed to the bruising. Anyway, I'll be 7 weeks post-op on Friday and you can't even tell a trace of this bruise. I was at the beach 1.5 weeks post-op and had fun teasing the kids that a shark had got ahold of me between the bruising and the port scars. lol.
