Guest guest
I e-mailed BillyBee Honey about their ingredients: " Can you please assure me in writing that your Pure Natural Honey sold in the 1 kg squeezable container is indeed 100% pure with NO FRUCTOSE OR DEXTROSE OR CORN SYRUP ADDED? Guest guest
I would write back and make sure they mean 100% natural honey and not 100% natural as in no pres. or chem. Guest guest
Hi Lynn....this won't answer your question, but i felt i should pass along some info i do have on Billy Bee Honey. They no longer use 100% Canadian honey, but blend with Argentinian Honey. The problem with this is that the Argentinian honey can contain Nitrofurans. Nitrofurans are antimicrobial drugs which are banned in Canada, as well as in many other countries, for use in food-producing animals, including honey bees. Billy Bee was one of the brands under a mandatory recall when Health Canada first investigated this in March of 2004. Austrailian honey's are also known to be blended with Argentinian honey. I didn't investigate to find out why Nitrofurans are banned, i just opted to avoid a known chemical, when the honey was first recalled back in 2004. [Commercial honey's that are blended have to so state on their label.] Sorry i was NO help Cindy, IBD, SCD 11 months Brady, 5, ASD, CP, SCD 11 months

Guest guest
www.azurestandard.com I buy the gallon of clover honey (other honey flavors as well) for $19.95 a gallon. It is 100% honey, no additives, flavor determined by the flowers the bees visited. It is very thick, and very raw, it can be pasturized and filtered at home. Guest guest
Hi Kim! If i can't get honey direct from a farm, i find that 'Bear of the Woods' from Zehrs has been good, or the liquid bulk honey from either Bulk Barn, or the local health food store. [i'm in ontario] I used to be able to get great honey from a farm that was a friend of friend type thing....but the friend moved!! As long as the farm honey is filtered, ie clear, with no pollen showing, it can be either raw or pasturized. Hope this helps, Cindy, IBD, SCD 11 months Brady, 5, ASD, CP, SCD 11 months
Guest guest
Hi again, Kim....oops...its Honey of the Woods that Zehrs carries, and there is also a canadian honey called Bear in the Woods. [there was a bear on label, so i was sort of right, lol.] Cindy, IBD, SCD 11 months Brady, 5, ASD, CP, SCD 11 months
Guest guest
Thanks for the replies on honey Summer and Cindy. Summer, how do you pasturize honey? I know you can't give honey to a baby, but is it o.k for a breastfeeding Mom to eat?
