They may change things around for her,but she's okay as long as anesthesia is aware of her history. Osler
Guest guest
Thanks : I had hoped you'd talk this over with your husband and post. LOL. I did email Dr. R this morning and he said it shouldn't be a problem but he wants her to have a consult with a local physician and get an opinion. We called the local hospital this morning and talked to the anesthesologist who asked Drema why she was having this surgery...told her she wasn't over weight, LOL (275 pounds is not overweight in outerspace where he was apparently from), and said that he works strictly for the local hospital and is not able to do consult work. So from here we go to her PCP to ask her what to do about the consult. We figure she'll make some calls and get us what we need. It's amazing the stumbling blocks that uninformed people put out. Like the receptionist at the Dr's office who is very vocal that Drema should not have this (or any) surgery. Also, the hospital where she had the problems wanted $17 plus .54 a page for her medical records. Yikes. Unless they were to go directly to a doctor. So we had them sent ot her PCP and that way it didn't cost anything. Having just gone through this whole packet thingie, you would think it would work the same but it sure does vary from person to person, doctor to doctor. But in the end the whole thing works! Thanks .
